Congressional Republicans stated today that they will begin impeachment proceedings against Hillary Clinton, even though she has not yet been elected President. Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R, GA), who will lead the Republican effort, told The Gore Years that Americans can expect that “the Clintons will kick up enough dirt as soon as they’re elected that there will be plenty to impeach upon.” According to Westmoreland, there is no need to wait until the actual election to begin the investigations necessary for impeachment. “This is a strong enough country to begin serving what I would call preemptive justice,” he said.
